Arreola Devastates Mitchell In Round 1 Knockout

INDIO, CA – We all knew it wasn’t going to end well but we didn’t expect it to end THAT quickly… On Saturday night at the Fantasy Springs Resort in Indio, California a bull went crazy in the china cabinet. Connecting with the second most discussed chin in boxing (Amir Khan being the first), Chris Arreola defeated Seth Mitchell by first round knockout in front of a capacity crowd.  Mitchell, who hoped to shed his image as a made champion, was anything but successful in his latest campaign to establish his legitimacy in the heavyweight division. On paper, he seemed like everything was going his way. Power in tact, slimmed down fitter physique, toned body,…

Mitchell vs. Arreola – The Time Is Now

INDIO, CA – Saturday night, Seth Mitchell and Chris Arreola enter the ring with the weight of the world on their shoulders. After a subpar performance in his rematch against Jonathon Banks, Mitchell looks to dispel his “made champion’ image while Arreola wants to show up in shape and prove he’s a viable threat instead of the next certified heavyweight gate keeper. If the fight is as entertaining as the verbal assault occurring between the two camps in the days leading up to this bout then we are in for a real treat. It’s been no holds barred for Arreola and his disdain for Mitchell. Panning everything from his assent up to the heavyweight ladder,…

Arreola “Hates” Mitchell. But Can He Beat Him?

INDIO, CA – Heavyweights Chris Arreola and Seth Mitchell collide on September 7th for the WBC and WBO belts at Fantasy Springs. And based on Arreola’s statements to media over the past few weeks, he is ready. Arreola is ready but which Arreola will show up? A fighter relying on strength but has plenty of “bread” as he did in the fight with Stiverne (that left him with a broken nose), or an in shape Arreola? In candid statements to Boxingscene Radio, he’s admitted to lack of focus in previous camps. But this time he says he’s a changed athlete. Opting to train in Arizona rather than California, he’s prepared to leave it all in…

Although he hasn’t been inside of the ring since 1997, he’s certain he can he has what it takes. On the Sky Sports Ringside podcast, he told hosts his brother will be training him and if Roy believes he’s soft, he’s sadly mistaken, “I’ve accused him of running and he said he never ran. He’s said he will fight…

Heavyweights Johnathon Banks and Seth Mitchell have been confirmed their rematch on the undercard of Adrien Broner vs. Gavin Rees on February 16th in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
