Kovalev 2, Pascal O: The Krusher Easily Defeats Pascal In Rematch

MONTREAL, QUEBEC – In front of the overwhelmingly pro-Pascal crowd, Sergey Kovalev once again proved he is THE light heavyweight champion of the world by defeating former champion Jean Pascal by seventh round TKO. With Roy Jones Jr. rapping him to the ring, and new trainer Freddy Roach flanking his side, Pascal emerged hoping to capitalize on his pre-fight insistence that a reinvigorated fighter would debut at the Belle Centre and challenge Kovalev. Once the participants were ready for action and the opening bell sounded, it was clear the rematch would progress and end just as the first pairing. Despite a commendable start from the challenger, Kovalev easily withstood Pascal’s hard looping shots and relentlessly battered him into submission. Continuing into…

[Video] Kovalev & Pascal Shove At Today’s Weigh-In

MONTREAL — With nothing left to do but face off, it seemed like a ‘business as usual’ day at the Bell Centere for Sergey Kovalev and Jean Pascal. In the weeks leading up to the bout there’s been discussions, sometimes luke warm, on the issue of pre-fight drug testing but nothing earth shattering. In a part hype, part comedic move, Jean Pascal decided to flip Kovalev’s hat off his head and well…you can see the rest for yourself. kovalev-pascal-casquette Good luck Pascal, you have an interesting [short] night ahead of you on Saturday.

Drug Testing Still A Concern For Kovalev/Pascal

When the March 14th title bout between Sergey Kovalev and Jean Pascal was announced, Pascal took to social media calling for random drug testing. His motivation? While he’s not fearful of ‘cheating’ by use PED’s or believes Kovalev is a dirty fighter, he is fearful of a  cancellation of the lucrative scrap. “Kovalev needs to show the world that he is not a product of that culture cheating the fans out of a clean sport. The fans must raise their voice to make boxing evolve with this issue. The sport doesn’t need any fraudster as a champion.” Back in January, Kathy Duva, CEO of Main Events (Kovalev’s promoter) once again reasserted that their fighter is clean and are more…
