[Push Play] Roy Jones Jr. “Wins” By KO Against Fan (video)

In an oddly promoted boxing/MMA hybrid card, former pound-for-pound king pen Roy Jones Jr. defeated former MMA fighter Vyron “The Cannon” Phillips earning him the right to not pay out 100K. Wait what? In case you missed it, URshow.tv conducted a contest where fans, if selected, would earn the opportunity to fight against the former champion. If the selected entrant successfully knocked him out, they would pocket a cool 100K. Undoubtedly Phillips was excited he got that call but unfortunately for him, despite having an MMA background, he was no match for Jones who finished him off in two round. Did anyone really expect a different outcome? It IS Roy Jones Jr., no matter what age he is,…

Thank Pope Francis. Pontiff To Promote Boxing Match?

You’ve been thanking Al Haymon, now you can thank Pope Francis. Well, not exactly. In funny and interesting news, Religious News Service reported that the Pontiff will be promoting a boxing match on May 7th between a Catholic and a Muslim. Bless their heart. As progressive as the Pope is, I’m sure His Holiness is referring to the upcoming match-up between Canelo Alvarez and Amir Khan, given WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman’s recent visit to Rome to award the leader of the Catholic Church the “The Green and Gold for the Champion of kindness, virtue and hope.” (no sanctioning fees were collected.) 5 Reasons Rousey Is A Bigger Household Name Than Leila Ali

“You’re not famous until my mother has heard of you.”~ Jay Leno In an interview published by Fight Hype early in 2016, Floyd Mayweather considered retired women’s boxing champ Laila Ali a victim of a racist system that praised white UFC fighter Ronda Rousey for her accomplishments but did not heap such glory upon Ali during her career. “But you look at things like this, Ronda Rousey, you know, I think she fought somewhere like 11 or 12 fights, which is not a bad thing.
