EXCLUSIVE: Bob Arum Confirms Garcia’s Release From Top Rank

During the Pacquiao Bradley Fight Week in Las Vegas, Top Rank Chief Bob Arum confirmed to the Morning Punch-In Show w/ RB & Jae podcast that Mikey Garcia has been released from Top Rank. “Other promoters made runs at him. And that screwed him up. and yeah he we didn’t offer him the Crawford fight because he wanted more money than Crawford and Crawford is the champion. That means something. So we’ve given Mikey his release now and he’s free to do what he wants.” Says the release was given “today.” Where Garcia lands remains to be seen.

On Tuesday’s Pacquiao vs Bradley undercard media workout in Los Angeles, Top Rank chief Bob Arum was on hand to discuss the stacked card that he’s been billing as the “anti-Trump” card given the number of Mexicans competing on the card. Manny Pacquiao To Delay “The Announcement”

If you were eagerly awaiting the announcement of Manny Pacquiao’s next, and potentially final opponent, you’ll have to wait a little while longer. According to his promoter Bob Arum, Pacquiao was expected to make a selection on Friday  during the Metro PCS Friday Night Knockouts telecast on TruTv but according to a story by ESPN, the announcement won’t be happening as Pacquiao can’t decide who he wants to face. In 2016, the boxing world braces itself as another of it’s most iconic figures in recent history prepares to hang up the gloves and walk from the ring for the final time. This week, ESPN.com reported that Manny Pacquiao, the fighting pride of the Philippines will retire after his next fight. The announcement was made public by long time promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank.
