Positive Drug Tests For Slice, Shamrock Following Bellator

Well, it was good while it lasted. MMAFighting.com is reporting that aged combatants Kimbo Slice (Kevin Ferguson) and Ken Shamrock have both tested positive for banned substances following their recent respective appearances at Bellator 149. As a result, both have been suspended by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation pending investigation. The exact substance found has not been made public at this time. At the event Shamrock came up short, losing by first-round TKO against Royce Gracie, while Slice defeated Dada 5000 by third round TKO. Bellator Issues Court Order To Stop Rampage Jackson

   Today, Bellator MMA was compelled to go to court to stop Quinton “Rampage” Jackson from fighting in an April 25th bout promoted by Bellator’s competitor, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).  Jackson, who has completed only three fights of his exclusive six-fight contract with Bellator, is barred by contract from fighting for any promoter other than Bellator. Our lawsuit for an injunction and related relief – filed in the Chancery Division of the Superior Court in Burlington County, New Jersey – will compel Jackson to honor his contractual agreement.   We look forward to having one of our MMA stars fighting for Bellator again.

MMA: What We Learned This Week

With another weekend of action behind us, it’s time to see what we learned from Bellator 134, Invcita FC 11 and UFC 184. Bellator 134 1. We learned that Liam McGeary is going to be a tough bout for anyone in the light heavyweight division.
