Stand By Your Man Jeanie Buss
LOS ANGELES, CA –
No one takes the saying ‘Stand by your man’ more serious than Jeanie Buss.
Buss who is the daughter of the late Jerry Buss, owner of the Los Angeles Lakers, and Chief of Business Operations says in her recent book, ‘Laker Girl’ she felt betrayed by the Laker organization when they opted to hire Mike D’Antoni instead of putting fiancee Phil Jackson back at the helm.
The quote appeared in an excerpt published Sunday in the Los Angeles Times, where Buss stated she felt she “got played,” by her brother Jim (who made the ultimate decision).
“How do you do that to your sister? How do you do that to Phil Jackson?”
And you thought you had family drama. I wonder what Thanksgiving dinner was like that year? Coincidence or not, I can’t find ANY pictures of Jim Buss and Phil Jackson together.
This sounds like one of those Korean soap operas on channel 44 where the father and CEO of the family business decides to pass the torch to the young man he took under his wing rather than his biological son. The son then goes on an all war in an attempt to bring down the demise of his “brother” only to make amends in the end. Or something like that.
