Magomed Abdusalamov Out Of Medically Induced Coma
NEW YORK, NY –
Good news for the fans and family of heavyweight fighter Magomed Abdusalamov. According to a report by ESPN.com’s Dan Raphael, Abdusalamov was brought out of a medically induced coma on Friday and was breathing on his own, said promoter Nathan Lewkowicz of Sampson Boxing.
If you recall, Abdusalamov fought against Mike Perez on November 2nd on the Gennady Golovkin vs. Curtis Stevens undercard. During the course of the bout, Abdusalamov suffered a broken nose and hand after being dominated by Perez over 1o rounds. While seeking treatment post fight, he complained of headaches and underwent testing. As a result doctors discovered a blood clot in his brain.
While this is good news for Abdusalamov, he isn’t out of the woods yet and his family still needs tremendous support for the mounting medical bills his treatment is accumulating.
