The “Most Feared Woman in MMA“ tagline seems to get thrown around a lot. After Invicta FC 13, the honor has been bestowed upon Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino again.

It took her all of 45 seconds to destroy yet another opponent in the Invicta cage to retain her featherweight tile. This time around from The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, NV it was a game but far under gunned Faith Van Duin from Australia who fall victim.

Cyborg came forward with an angry flurry at the opening bell and sent Faith bailing against the cage. A nasty knee floored Van Duin and from there a series of ground and pound punches called it end to the night. This win marked number 14 in Cyborg’s career and continued her ten year unbeaten streak.

But as always after any Cris Cyborg fight the question remains, will she ever fight UFC champ and arguably the number one pound for pound women’s fighter in the world Ronda Rousey. The answer seems to be more of a no any more. Cyborg looked extremely drained at the Invicta FC 13 weigh-in, most noticeably looking drawn in her face and hands. If she struggles to cut weight to meet the 145lb mark for the featherweight division, the chances of her making 135lb are slim to none.

With Rousey having no interest in moving up or fighting a catch weight and this more then likely her last fight in Invicta, it sounds like Cris and her team is ready to move in a different direction. During fight week fight Cyborg’s manager George Prajin was asked about what would make sense for her first fight in the UFC and they already have a target. “Miesha Tate said she’d fight Cris at 140 pounds. That’s probably the second-biggest fight in women’s MMA, behind Cris and Ronda Rousey. It’s a step in the right direction. That’s what we would love to see in Cris’ next fight. If not Miesha, let’s see if one of the other girls will meet Cris halfway.”

It remains to seen if that is a fight that will happen, Tate has a number one contender bout with Jessica Eye in a few weeks in Chicago. Even Cyborg versus Rousey isn’t a sure fire thing to happen if they could agree on weight. Rousey has to first deal with another Brazilian bruiser in Bethe Corriea at UFC 190 in August. With all of these different fighters in the mix, it’s a good time to be a women’s MMA fan.
