Haye/Fury Cancelled Indefinitely – Haye May Retire
LONDON, ENGLAND –
It looks like the fight featuring David Haye and Tyson Fury is off indefinitely.
After undergoing shoulder surgery in Germany Thursday morning Hayemaker Boxing released the following statement:
“David underwent five hours of surgery in Germany on Thursday morning to reconstruct his right shoulder, and has since been told to seriously consider ending his glittering 11-year professional boxing career.”
The Haye-Fury bout was originally scheduled for September 28th then rescheduled to February 8th after Haye suffered a cut during training camp in an intense sparring session.
We will now wait to see Tyson Fury weigh-in on the fight via twitter in one of his infamous rants. The cancellation of the fight with Fury now leaves the door open for a match up with either Chris Arreola or perhaps Deontay Wilder. Wilder’s been spotted in the Haye camp as a sparring partner and Fury seems to be a huge fan of him these days frequently mentioning him. He’s available, in shape, and in need of a step up in competition.
With Haye out of the mix, who should take his place? Wilder, Jennings, Mike Perez. Share your thoughts.
