Gennady GGG Golvokin defeats Dominic Wade
Gennady GGG Golvokin added one more to his current body count  of 35 by swiftly and handily defeating mandatory IBF challenger Dominic Wade by second round knockout Saturday night at the The Forum in Inglewood, CA.
Heading into the bout Golvokin was the overwhelming favorite and displayed that advantage as early as round one. Connecting with strong, thudding punches to Wade’s body, the GGG assault continued as he took his offensive upstairs landing with big over hand rights that sent Wade to the canvas. For the short time the fight continued, Wade lacked the power to keep Golovkin at bay and found himself on the canvas a total of three times before action was stopped by Jack Reiss.

A jubilent Golovkin leveled his post-fight comments at WBC middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez reiterating he wants to take ownership of the WBC middleweight title.

“I feel great. I’m here now, and I’m here to stay. I’m not going anywhere. Give me my belt, give me my belt! Let’s fight.”

The WBC, the governing body of Alvarez’s issued an order weeks ago demanding the beginning of negotiations of a bout between Alvarez and Golovkin in May following Canelo’s fight against Amir Khan on May 7th, should he emerge victorious. By order of the WBC, should Alvarez fail to negotiate he will be stripped of the title and it will be given to Golovkin.
