Chris Eubank Jr. said he needed to make a statement in his win again Tom Doran and that was exactly what he did. At London’s O2 Arena, Eubank Jr. battered and brutalized Doran to cruise to a forth round TKO victory.
Calling the fight “another day at the office,” in it’s aftermath, Eubank Jr. didn’t mince words when asked if he wanted middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin next.
“For me it’s all about making statements,” said Eubank. “Im ready for Golovkin, I’m coming for your belts.”
“People think you [Golovkin] are indestructible but you’re not. Anybody with a title I’m coming for him.”
Eubank’s trainer Eddie Hearn echoed his young fighter’s sentiments and said the fight with Golovkin could likely be made this week.
“We’ll talk this week,” said Hearn. “Golovkin vs. Eubank might get made this week.”
If that was too happen, the fight would arguably be Golovkin’s most compelling fight to date.
