Improving his record to 22-0-0, Jermell Charlo won by technical knock out over Jose Angel charlo-rodriguez460Rodriguez Monday night on Golden Boy Live.

Celebrating prematurely, Charlo tee’d off until Rodriguez looked ready to collapse in a heap. Believing the fight was over, Charlo celebrated in his corner while the referee counted then resumed action.

When the fight was in play, Charlo outperformed Rodriguez with better movement and power. Despite Charlo busting up his face early on, Rodriguez remained game even when he was eating the multiple jabs and straight rights of Charlo. Rodriguez attempted a late round rally but was ineffective when Charlo adjusted with hard counterpunching.

In physical, wrestling fashion, Errol Spence Jr. won by unanimous decision over Emmanuel Lartey.

In the early rounds, Lartey found himself hugging, holding and taking few forearms to the neck for his troubles. Once Spence settled into the fight, he connected with straight lefts upstairs and body shot downstairs. Getting a second wind in the late rounds, Lartey waged a comeback but it was too little too late. Spence remains undefeated and awaiting his next assignment.

Olympian Rau’Shee Warren cruised to victory with a unanimous decision win over Jhon Molina with final scores 40-35 by all three judges. Punishing Molina’s midsection with repeated short hooks, Warren adds another notch to his resume.

On hand was the other ‘Magic Man’ Antonio Tarver. Announced today, Tarver will be making his return to the ring, on Golden Boy Live, on November 26th against Mike Sheppard. During an interview mid-broadcast, Tarver asserted his desire to make a run for the heavyweight belt.

Can Tarver return to greatness? How did the card shape up tonight?
