McGregor Off UFC 200 Card; Retirement Status Still Unknown

Social media went into a frenzy when UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor made an impromptu “retirement” announcement on twitter Tuesday morning. Whether or not the retirement announcement is true remains to be seen but what is certain is McGregor won’t be fighting at UFC 200. Appearing on ESPN’s SportsCenter, UFC president Dana White said McGregor had been pulled from the card after refusing to travel to Las Vegas to appear at the press conference and film commercials and marketing spots. McGregor is reportedly in Iceland training, presumably for the Diaz rematch, and didn’t want to break camp to travel to the Sin City.

Conor McGregor To Retire? Sure.

Conor “the Notorious MMA” McGregor sure knows how to get the tongues wagging. On Tuesday, McGregor tweeted he is ready to hang it all up. Sorry Conor, we don’t believe you, you need more people. Well actually you don’t need more people but we don’t believe you are retiring. Until proven otherwise, talks are still underway to rematch McGregor against Nate Diaz at UFC 200. While we wait, enjoy this video from the press conference in Los Angeles ahead of the first McGregor vs Diaz bout.
