Adrian Broner Enters Not Guilty Plea at Felony Gross Sexual Imposition Hearing; Is Pacquaio Fight Still On? #boxing (Video)
Adrien Broner is pleading not guilty to a string of felony sex charges.
Cleveland.org reports that Broner appeared in court on Tuesday to enter his plea following an alleged incident between the former champion and a 29-year old woman at Ohio nightclub.
Broner, 29, of Cincinnati, is charged with gross sexual imposition, a fourth-degree felony, misdemeanor sexual imposition and abduction, a third-degree felony, all related to a June incident at Anatomy Nightclub + Ultralounge in the city’s Warehouse District neighborhood, according to court records.
A grand jury handed up an Oct. 29 indictment that says the 29-year-old forcibly kissed the mouth and neck of a woman at the West 9th Street club.
Broner’s attorney Ian Friedman told reporters they intend to fight the charges.
“This is a case of a simple allegation that we believe will be proven to be not true,” Friedman said. “That place will be in the we courtroom and we look forward to that day.”
The court appearance comes on the eve an official fight announcement involving Broner and future Hall-of-Famer Manny Pacquiao. A fight that is expected to be formally announced next week.
